DO NOT INSURE ANYTHING WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!! I filed a claim with them at the end of February 2018 (currently April 18th), it took over a week for an inspector to come and take a look at the damage. It took another 2 weeks for them to give their report to Universal Property (After I made several calls to both Universal and the inspector they contracted). It took 3 more weeks for a claims adjuster to call me (again, this is after multiple calls each week to ask the status, offer any information/pictures of the damage I had, etc.). They finally claimed that they were mailing me a check for the damages (no movement on the reimbursement for hotel/food that I had sent them on week 3), and that I should expect it sometime the next week. No check the following week, so I call them back and they say that it hadn't gone out yet but it will that week, still nothing to verify MY check goes out. 2 and a half weeks later, still no check! I've been calling daily and they have brushed me off at every step of the way and every time I call they tell me it's USPS's problem and somehow forget that I have sent in all my receipts for reimbursement even though I have told them and they have found them EVERY TIME I CALLED. I have now called and told them they need to overnight my check, and their response is that "to overnight the check you will have to mail us an envelope with overnight shipping already paid for". I still have not gotten a check, and there has still been no phone call regarding my hotel/food costs while I wasn't able to stay in my home. DO NOT PURCHASE INSURANCE FROM THEIS COMPANY!!! THEY WILL DRAG THEIR FEET THROUGH EVERY SINGLE STEP OF THE PROCESS. As of right now I still don't know if I'll need to involve a lawyer or the BBB, but I'm about ready to.
UPDATE (4/20/18): After 2 frustrating calls yesterday around noon, I received a call yesterday afternoon from Jennifer Marty (Claims Manager) who was exceptional. She called to let me know that she was fully aware of the situation, she apologized for the frustration and said she would resolve it immediately. Less than an hour later she emailed me with a tracking number for BOTH my check for damages and my reimbursement check for hotel/food. I received both checks today.
