Mark Young Review of KindHuman Bicycles

I used to train and race in triathlons (and coach people who competed in the Ironman) and in 1988 was fitted for, and purchased, a custom Julian Edwins bicycle. I have been riding this bike, on and off, for 28 years. It s heavy, has friction/downtube shifters and a six (yes I said six) speed straight block.
Recently I was speaking with a friend of mine, who has been in the Triathlon/bike industry for 30 years. He suggested that I speak with the guys at Kind Human. I then spent some time on their website and was impressed with their product/marketing/corporate philosophy. I called and spoke directly with Gavin and he spent some time on the phone with me discussing Kind Human s products and philosophy. He set up a meeting for me with Ayal, their Technical Leader.
Ayal and I met at their Avenue Road store at 10am on a Friday morning. He was incredibly patient with me and my questions (which of course were based on my old school knowledge of bike technology) and slowly walked me through the differences between my bike and the newer technology of today. He took the time to switch my pedals to one of their bikes and also fit me for, and switched out, a handlebar stem so I could take one of their bikes for a test ride. We were together for over two and half hours and I was extremely impressed with his knowledge and ability to communicate the new bike technology and provide me with the points of differentiation between Kind Human s bikes and others.
I am VERY much looking forward to working with Gavin and Ayal and learning more about Kind Human.
