Spent a week at Treasure Island for a technical conference that I attended at a nearby convention center. The room rate that the host hotel was too high to justify. TI had a much better rate and I had never stayed there before, so I took the opportunity.

The hotel is definitely showing its age, especially in common areas like the elevators. Even for 1993, they seem very old in their design. However, the room itself was clean and comfortable. Readily available hot water with good pressure in the bathroom. The room was not overly large, but had plenty of space for me with a comfortable king size bed. I had a room at the end of one of the legs, which, while a long walk from the elevator, did give me two windows instead of one with great views of the Strip.

There were a couple of negatives, most notably the ancient TV interface that was just about unusable in terms of tuning to a station. It also lacked any kind of connectivity for a firetv/roku/chromecast. Power outlets were also not terribly convenient for plugging in a charging brick for USB ports.

Probably the biggest disappointment was the fitness center. The center itself was nicely equipped, no complaints there. However, it didn t open until 6 am and proved mostly useless as I was off to conference activities around 7 am. For a hefty resort fee, the fitness center should be a 24 hour facility. I ended up walking along the strip in the mornings.

Overall, particularly given the price and the very good upper central Strip location, I found the offering to be very fair. I would definitely stay again.
