Edit to add: the car overheated while on the freeway with a car full or kids trying to get home at night. I ve gotten low oil warnings twice and now a warning that the car gets too hot and check coolant levels. I contacted the dealership initially about the overheating and after a mechanic confirmed the other problems I noticed, I called again to notify them of additional problems.

I bought a car from Autonation in April and had problems with getting add-on services that I had no intention of getting. Those were resolved eventually but one refund for $4k is still pending. When I got the car, it was noted on a paper and the sales person mentioned that the brakes were brand new, other than that, I wasn't made aware of any other issues or fixes on the car.

The car has been burning through oil (or it's leaking somewhere) and we're replacing it too frequently. White smoke comes out of the exhaust from coolant leaking into the engine (head gasket or internal engine problems), going down hill the transmission shifts hard and jerks the car until you're on level ground, and the brakes that were "new" are actually worn down (I've only out 4k miles, not enough to wear out new brakes), and the secondary air injection is not working properly.
I've only had the car for close to 3 months and had I known all these issues would arise so soon, I would have opted for a different car or gone to a different dealership all together.

I've called the dealership several times. I was waiting for a call from the manager since they decided to call my husband even though I clearly asked them to call me and left my phone number. I didn't hear from anyone and called the following day. Eventually I received a call, not from a manager I believe, and his tone was very condescending and at one point told me to pay the deductible "like everyone in America and that mechanics will say anything to make money (the mechanic I had look at the car gained nothing from pointing out issues, he knew I only needed it looked at). The tone and his remarks made it very difficult to keep from getting frustrated. I asked several times for them to make it right and I wasn't getting anywhere.

I understand that buying a used/as-is car can have issues but they never disclosed any of the problems I'm having with that car. I assumed that when they advertise that they've done a full inspection, they've actually taken care of issues before they sell it.

I've been carpooling kids from my daughters dance class and driving my kids in this vehicle thinking it's safe and come to find out, there's several issues that are ready to make this car completely useless and unreliable.
