We used SW Consulting and they crammed our needs into their cookie cutter sales approach.

Now I am not saying we had a great sales culture, but I am saying this would not have been the first step recommended by a well run consulting company.

How do I know this....Southwestern never looked at our financials! How in the world do you know the problems in our company without diving into the numbers? Basically, their informal assessment said we were not great salespeople. Next, they encouraged us to hyper-focus on selling. Then they subscribed us to their one-on-one sales coach where they continue to make money.

We did see short-term results in the first six months. However, long-term there was no noticeable impact on our bottom line. More specifically, if you jumped into our Income Statement then the only difference would be looking at how our cost went up for their consulting fees and our revenue stayed flat.

Essentially we got sold to by salespeople.
