Most of the management at ABS which is also USHL, that is Automated Benefit Services and US Health And Life, most of them are very dictator like and they pit employees against one another. It's a family company so a lot of people there are somehow related or friends of executives or managers so you have to really be careful what you say because people there love to tattle and spread rumors and get you in trouble. You'll find relatives and friends advanced with out you even being given a chance and even when the friend or relative is inexperienced or incompetent, and of course those people you'll find out get the good raises and they even get bonuses when the rest of us don't. So that really crushes your spirit a lot. The other bad thing is that you are discouraged from making any suggestions because its all taken like you are insulting the managers but they should be seeing you as you are wanting to help the company. I read somewhere else about the company being tied in with the Detroit mafia and I haven't seen anything there to make me think that except for the secrecy and attitudes like I am the king and everyone should stop what they're doing and kiss my feet. Pay is also really unequal, you can be making like $18 and the person next to you is getting $22 and do less work but I guess that's every company.
The good thing is that the company lets you take off when you need but they don't pay you for it. I've even heard salary people complain they have to take half day PTO when they got to get a sick kid even though they may have worked a day or two extra the previous week.
