Site 445 Roe campground.

Stayed here for 2 nights and 3 days with my two daughters (9 and 11). As a person who grew up doing more "interior" or backwoods camping I have not had any good "car-camping" experiences. However Arrowhead Roe campground has changed my opinion of that. The sites are relatively private and there are several amenities that make the experience great. Potable water stations close by, functioning but not fancy washrooms, the comfort station, 2 picnic tables at the site, a working grill with fire pit and lots of trails. It all combines to make for a seamless and comfortable experience.

The beaches are nice and the trails varied in length which gives you options. Park staff were also present over the 3 days which is nice to see. The park store was a saving grace as we ran short on fire wood.

There was a black bear encounter at the site next to us (food was left out briefly) and the bear was eager for more as he snooped around the other sites. The park staff came and spoke with the camper, assured they were aware, monitoring and attempting to live trap. Luckily that same night they returned and had trapped the bear (Lucky for sure and not the only bear but still nice to have the feedback).

Overall the park was well spaced, lots of amenities depending on the site you choose and provides a nice setting for family camping. My kids liked the whole experience and with bathrooms etc. not far from any campsite they enjoyed the freedom to go without me and explore the local area. If only you could pick the fellow campers on nearby sites (looking at you multiple families on one site with wild kids and up till midnight partying...)
