I reserved a room 3 months in advance of our stay....
I reserved a room 3 months in advance of our stay. 1 month in advance of the stay I get an email saying there will be construction work during our stay. From 8 am to 7 pm. I wrote them asking for compensation, and the only thing they could do was to 'offer' a cancellation. So they offered me a right they already have me when I booked the room. I replied complaining about them notn being service-minded and thet reply was that they are sorry that I perceived this as bad service. Not ONCE did they try to solve the problem, neither could they care less if I was a customer there or not. Needless to say, I cancelled and will not stay any time in the future.
It is a shame, as I have had nothing but positive experiences with the clarion hotels before.
