Took my son to the pro shop this weekend to get him wax laces for his hockey skates so they wouldn't continue coming apart while skating. When my wife grabbed a pair of laces, she was told by the owner that they would be too long. She insisted that we wanted them a little longer so our son would have the room for leverage to keep them tight. He persuaded that there would be plenty of length for that. Upon lacing the skates, that was not the case. We allowed him to try them to be sure they were good, and an hour or so later she returned to return/exchange for the original length she wanted to begin with. She was told she cannot exchange them and she would have to buy another pair.

As the price is not the issue, it would've been a good gesture from ownership to realize that they had made a mistake and allowed her with a smile, to have the original size she picked out to begin with. Focusing on Customer Service and owning a bad transaction would have been a sure way to obtain good report with this situation. Let's be transformational, not transactional, as long-term Customer relations is the sure way to a successful business - something that was not practiced in this situation.

Some things are about the principle of the interaction.

Summary - I will recommend the Teams to go to the Ice House in Wake Forest, not Ice Plex.

Sincerely,

No longer a Customer of yours
