We were LIED to about the office charge! We were told going in that the office visit would be $150 plus an X-ray charge. We told them my son had no insurance or job. My son knew he had a fractured hand because it had been x-rayed at LVHN Hospital and he was wearing a splint. When we received the bill, the charge was $145 for office visit, $65 for the x-ray and $1,145 for "treating of fracture." All the doctor did for $1,295 was look at the x-ray and say that it was fractured but healing and he could take the splint off! He saw him for all of 2 minutes! We were told it was $150 total for the visit plus an x-ray fee. There was NO mention of any additional charges! They are threatening to put it in collections if it isn't paid, even though we were not told there would be any other possible charges. We've made numerous attempts to have this situation properly redressed, and OAA Orthopaedic Specialists refuses to budge on the issue. This office preys on the poor. To take advantage of people in such circumstances is the definition of predatory business tactics.
