Bad experience in every sense. The only reason, i give the 1, is because of their neonatal department.
My wife was admitted for a "induced" labor. We were made to stay admitted for 36 hours! before they could do anything. And the reason, why they delayed the induction process , was because they were planning the "rooms" accommodation availability.
We had to push hard, to start the induction. And finally they did. That too they induction look more than 12 hours.. but no signs of delivery. PAMF doctors where switching shifts but no one wanted to take a responsibility.
We again had to push hard for C-Section because the baby was in distress. The PAMF doctor Dr Hong, was stubborn. Finally she realized herself that the babies heart rate is going down. And she said YES.
After the C-Section, which went fine. But, the next phase was another challenge. They are extremely slow with the baby. They took around 3-4 hours, until my wife could be with the baby.
The nurses in the nursery were extremely slow and lazy. The nurse was not ready to give my baby a shower , because the temperature has to reach "37 degrees exact", which i was frustrated of waiting for so much time, finally to realize, that they were using bad thermometers. Seriously? Stanford doesn't have money to buy good quality thermometers?
Next, for the "ROOM", That was a deadly situation. I had requested 1 month in advance for private room. There were private rooms available. But the way the room management nurses handled the situation was epic.
The nurse threatened me to call the security!! if i push for private room. "Seriously"? On the day of my babies birth, they are threatening to call security, cos i am harassing them? How important is it for them, to be comfortable as compared to the patients?
This was the last thread. Finally Stanford had to apologize to us for all the mess.
I would suggest not to do delivery here. Its good for neonatal but otherwise its a nightmare.
