Recently I had a procedure done at this place and I wish I could have gone to Banner instead. Check in was easy, but we waited quite awhile before I was taken back. I don't care how much human kindness the staff is professing to have, when you as a patient ask them not to dig in your hand and they continue to do so leaving you bruised, that's not human kindness. The first nurse went through my arm, then in the back of my hand, the second nurse on my left hand, then they blame it on me saying I am a hard stick: however, I have had IV 's before and other nurses got it in on the first try. They finally called someone from ultra sound to get my IV started and within 1 minute she had it in. They tell my husband the procedure was 45 minutes and 30 minutes in recovery so if he likes he can leave and they will call him when im ready, so he goes to pick up his paycheck and the recovery nurse ( which by the way the recovery room is the same as the patient prep room) seems to be in an all fire hurry to get me out of the one recovery bay, so I explain to him what we were told and he tells me that " on Fridays the real estate around there is very valuable and my husband should not have left the hospital, so he goes to check with another nurse and they put me in a room at the end of the hall, making me feel like I'm in their way. The nurse tried to tell me to get up and change, but I told him I had a cast and couldn't walk so he says " you don't have a wheel chair", again making me feel like im in the way. Is that human kindness? My procedure was on the 10th of November and today is the 13th of November and not one person called me from the hospital to see how im doing, if their was any complications etc., now I have always had my procedures done at Banner but my new Doctor does not have privileges there so I had to go to Mercy Gilbert. At least at Banner they follow up with you, they don't leave you bruised on both hands, and your arms ( two bruises are from the blue rubber band they place on you when they put in the IV). I won't be returning to this hospital any time soon.
