Very unhappy with my experience with American Relocation. Used the service to move my items from DC to the Boston area. They were not upfront in detailing all the costs associated with the move. While I was given an initial estimate, I was not aware of the additional costs associated with the move. I was charged more money for each box used as well as the use of packaging materials (such as moving blankets and tape). The extra costs amounted to an extra around $400 (the original estimate was $1300). I felt blind-sighted and taken advantage of.

In addition to these issues, I also had problems with the moving process. While the actual movers were very kind, the customer service representatives started out very helpful but then became unresponsive as it got closer to the end of my delivery window. My delivery eventually came a day after the end of the estimated delivery day. I was told I'd be made aware of an impending shipment 2-3 days ahead, but I was given less than 24 hour notice. Additionally, some things in my shipment arrived slightly damaged (felt pads on my glass tabletops removed; one frame broken).

Overall, I'm very unhappy with my experience with American Relocation. I would not recommend this service.
