Let me preface this by saying, The Dobbin House was my favorite restaurant growing up as a child and young adult. Whenever we came to Gettysburg, the best part of the trip was going here to eat.

That being said, for the second time now in several months, while going here to the downstairs tavern with my significant other, we have been completely ignored once seated.

The first time was during the tourist season, and the restaurant was pretty busy. Once we were seated, for about 20 minutes, no one, waiter or waitress, even seemed to acknowledge us whatsoever. It was only after I approached one and asked for service that someone took our order.

I understand that when a restaurant is busy, especially in a tourist town and this type of establishment, that can happen...no harm done.

A few nights ago, we went again. We were seated, and the tavern was relatively empty, with only about 5 other parties seated. After about 15 minutes, no one seemed to be acknowledging us or came to take our order, not even for drinks. A couple was seated behind us, and a waitress immediately took their drink order.

My significant other grabbed the attention of the hostess as she walked by and asked if a waitress/waiter could assist us. She returned and said that someone would be right out. After 5 more minutes with no one comming, we decided that we should probably just go somewhere else.

We got up and left. On our way out the hostess said , "Sorry 'bout that", while playing with her hair.

I'm not sure what is going on with this place, and their staff. My significant other and I definitely got a bad vibe after the second time of this happening. We most likely will not be returning. Sad.
