It used to be that the consumer experience at an Apple Store was exceptional. Now it's like a version of Best Buy Purgatory. I mean in the past 4 visits to buy or get service at South Park and North Lake, it's been surprisingly poor. Conversely, the consumer experience at the Microsoft Store (down the hall at South Park where Apple Store used to be) over the past 2 or 3 visits has been exceptional. Last time I was there, they even served me a cold Diet Coke!

In this particular visit, I had an appointment with the Genius Bar. Upon checkin, I was discouraged from working with Genius Bar personnel because I have a software issue and GB is focused on hardware. So I spent 2.5 hours in the store on the phone with Apple Care trying to get an iPhone / iTunes sync problem fixed. Finally, the GB human came to help and, essentially, just told me to perform a restore from new to wipe the iPhone and start fresh. If the outcome was the only problem, it wouldn't be quite as bad. My rub on this is the condescending, indifferent attitude I pick up on from people at Apple these days.

I'm tellin' ya, Microsoft, Windows, Lenovo, and Android's Pixel are looking better every day.
