The service was bad, they brought out the wrong orders and also brought out extra orders. We had brought a birthday cake that we request them to stick candels in, they then cut the cake and brought us the slices so the birthday girl never actually saw the complete cake. They also sliced the whole cake which was too large for the party so the cake will not last as long now as if only half of it was sliced.

Very pleasant 3-night stay. All staff we met very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Bed possibly the most confortable I have slept in (and been around the world a few times!) Restaurant food good although menu a little limited in choice. Parking (March 2019... building work ongoing) limited to acceptable on-the-road spaces very close to hotel entrance. Hotel a few minutes walk from town centre. No hesitation in recommending.

Not been here for quite sometime and met a friend for lunch. Matthew Street and his team in the kitchen produced the most delicious meal. Could have eaten any of the choices on the menu. Had a sneaky peak at my friends room. She was staying in one of the new Potting Sheds - it looked fabulous. Everything you could possibly need, very stylish and so clean. I understand the charming Amy Street is responsible for housekeeping. I would love to stay but sadly live too near so I recommend it instead

Fantastic hotel, lovely garden and a short walk to both the town centre shops and the castles. Loved our 2 nights here and they allow pets so been able to bring our fur baby along too. The attached restaurant is amazing and the food is spectacular. Rooms are a good size, comfortable and well equipped - fresh cafetiere coffee and a selection of tea and biscuits refreshed each day. Really enjoyed our stay

We only had a luncheon here, so cannot comment on other aspects of the hotel. The hotel was very well looked after, clean and warm. We were served with an interesting variety of well cooked and delightful dishes, and we're looked after by very helpful and attentive staff. Well done! A most pleasant visit. Congratulations on giving us an enjoyable experience. Thank you, we'll come again.

This hotel has a more luxurious and traditional feel than the front exterior suggests. They have a really pleasant dining area with good food and coffee that overlooks a well landscaped garden area. The bar area is well presented too. The rooms are varied from luxurious double rooms to 4 poster bed rooms. The team are really friendly and you will enjoy your stay.

Just back from a night away at this lovely hotel in the heart of Sherborne. We stayed in one of the new 'Garden Potting Sheds' which was absolutely lovely, beautifully decorated in a relaxed but luxurious way, it even had a private little garden terrace with our own fire pit. One of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. Complimentary Sloe Gin was a great little extra! The staff were so friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make our stay extra special. The little spa at the end of the garden was perfect for unwinding after a busy day and I had the most wonderful reflexology treatment. The food was exceptional with an extensive and original menu. Sherborne is a delightful little town with lovely shops and a beautiful abbey. A perfect getaway.

Just returned from the Seasons restaurant. We had a wonderful time. The food - we had the tasting menu- was lovely, well presented and very tasty. The staff were knowledgeable, attentive but did not hover. A very pleasant evening we are sure to return.

My wife and I love this hotel. We've stayed three or four times, and each stay has been a real pleasure. The staff fall into a category which is hard to find - smiling professionals! They're all so friendly and helpful, and the rooms, food and service are wonderful.

Our last stay, a week ago, was to celebrate a significant birthday, and we thought we should do it at the Eastbury, with its excellent 7 course taster menu and wine flight. Of all the lovely hotels in the area, this is the closest to our hearts, because staying here for the first time about 5 years ago made us realise how lovely Dorset is away from the coast. We were so impressed that it planted a seed, and when the time was right, last October we moved from north of London into a house only 10 miles away. Thank you Eastbury (and Sherborne, and North Dorset!)

It is a little hard to get around if your in a wheelchair. I can say the staff I talked during visit were as helpful as they could be. My purpose for this visit was the occasion of my sister's wake . It also a place where my late sister visited many time.

We stayed for two nights and found the hotel to be fantastic. The room was lovely, the staff were all very nice and the service was great. We eat in the hotel's restaurant on each of the two evenings and the food was brilliant! We most certainly will be looking to stay again in the future.

First, no parking available and then hotel's own construction work ongoing close to the garden which started before 0800 and carried on through the day. So, no relaxing in the room or in the garden. Food was very very average and over hyped and over priced. All in all, a very disappointing experience and certainly can't recommend and will not return.

Well Sherborne is quite posh, in places, and here is a posh hotel to go with it. It won't be to everyone's taste as the decor is very much in the classic style. If you like modern and trendy, this ain't. But we had a pleasant stay with no complaints. Breakfast was decent. Room was amazing. Staff friendly and helpful. Expensive!

Had afternoon tea for a birthday celebration. Great place with attentive staff. Gardens good for kids to run around. Food was really good, but a bit pricey for the actual quantity that arrived (we paid per head for sandwiches, cake etc)

It was impeccable! from the point of ringing up to book to the point of leaving - I was upgraded to a beautiful en suite double room
after requesting a cheap and cheerful single room.. the room itself was large, comfortable elegant stylish and scrupulously clean - the hotel has thought of everything from hot water bottles to bathroom slippers to a little night cap of complimentary Sloe Gin - all the staff I spoke to were charming and friendly and my inclusive breakfast was absolutely excellent with lots of choices of fresh foods- I wouldn t hesitate to recommend this gorgeous country hotel to anyone - and will definitely be making a return visit as soon as possible!

I recently stayed at the Eastbury as part of a team corporate retreat and everything was perfect. I stayed in one of the "Garden Potting Sheds", the room was immaculately presented and you could tell that a great deal of time had been spent on the design, my personal favourite touches were the mirror which doubled as a TV and the heated mirror in the bathroom. The staff were welcoming and informative, I couldn't have asked for a better stay.

October 20 ..wedding anniversary..3 night break..beautiful hotel in every way, but three things that we felt needed mentioning..We stayed in Kingcup on first floor in main hotel..really too small for a couple, and we were cold..the radiators were hardly ever on...
The food, on the whole was marvellous, with brilliant service, but the menu was repeated every night with one or two exceptions..the steak was superb, but the boeuf bourginon on the second evening had two very small pieces of steak in each helping!
Nonetheless, we had a lovely stay..thankyou..

Invited to join friends for a special 'thank you' meal which disappointed. Food pleasant but significantly over priced. Smoked makerel starter served in unopend tin that looked like it had come straight off Tescos' shelf. Staff unable to answer basic questions " what type of cheeses do you have on the cheese board?". Lots of affectation pretending to be excellent but not delivering on substance. Better value to be had lin Sherborne.

Brilliant. Nice rooms, varying in decor from room to room, nice individual additions to each. Evening meal is fantastic, fully recommend with wine flight. Breakfast is the best I've had....only problem is what to have from the wide selection available and having the large meal the night before!

We recently stayed at The Eastbury with my family, (we have young children 1 & 4) we stayed in an interconnecting room on the ground floor, willow and verbana. It was perfect for our needs, both rooms spacious, one with a shower and one with bath and shower. Lots of room and nice little touches with a Welcome bag with lots of local info and nice sweets for the children. We especially enjoyed the sloe gin for when the kiddies went to bed! We dined in the restaurant - wow absolutely stunning the food and ambience just perfect. I was shocked at how fabulous the kids meal looked. Zoe and Sarah served us who were excellent. Lots of attention to detail and a lovely wine list too. We enjoyed the garden games - croquet, badminton chess, and loved just sitting on the deck chairs surrounded by stunning garden - it's so pretty like a traditional English country garden. We pushed the boat out and both had swedish massages. Another big wow. We really enjoyed our time at the Eastbury and would confidential recommend it to anyone who is tempted. It really was lovely and there was lots to do in Sherborne and surrounding areas. We could have easily stayed longer. Thank you to Gemma and the team for looking after us so well.

This is an excellent hotel in the attractive town of Sherborne. Staying there is like staying in a beautiful old country house . I found this a lot more relaxing then the usual hotel experience. Please don't update the hotel just maintain it as necessary. The good was very good and room service excellent. The staff were efficient and friendly.

Amazing staff, who looked after us all night, but are all in fear of their so called supervisor who through out my experience with my mates wedding was horrendous.... Absolutely no way I would recommend. Ever... She's a horrible bitter and twisted person who should never work in hospitality.
