Thomas Rosser Review of Sofitel Cairo El Gezirah

We stayed for two nights, the pool is gorgeous but the hotel let themselves down. Service is poor and the hotel is overpriced for what you get - iftar menu at 750le is extortionate and the lack of a la carte menu restaurant made it impossible to enjoy ourselves. Nowhere to eat unless you want a buffet so we had to have room service. Dry, old tasting chicken nuggets and a 500le half chicken which looked like it was thrown against a wall - we complained and they took the price of the nuggets from our bill but of course left us to pay the taxes. Room service breakfast American Breakfast was good but forgot the bacon and sausage so essentially it was a bowl of egg all for 400le including taxes. All of our friends who stayed at the hotel encountered rude staff and below par service something Sofitel need to address. We wont be making the same mistake again. Sofitel dated, overpriced, and lacked any interest in making our stay an enjoyable one.
