We decided to stop there and have a bite to eat for an early lunch. The line is always pretty long but we went on an off time so it was only about 10 minutes for us. The wait was worth it. I had the best pastrami sandwich I have ever had in my life here. The meat was perfectly juicy and the bread was phenomenal. While you are waiting in line to order, you can watch all of the employees cutting the meats and preparing the sandwiches. One thing to note about Katz, is that the sandwiches are absolutely humongous. It's a struggle to eat the entire sandwich by yourself, so if you are somebody that likes smaller portions, ask for a to go box. The service was okay, pretty typical of what you would get at a New York restaurant and you might get the New York attitude. You order in line and just pick a seat after you order, so there are no waiters or waitresses serving you. We personally liked this because it seemed to speed the entire process up and the line moved faster than we thought it would. All in all, Katz is a classic NYC staple and a must visit for first time NYC visitors.
