The zoo is amazing. We always wait to go until it is a special occasion like a birthday (3 adults @ $17, 2 seniors @ $14, then a free childs birthday ticket plus tax was $86.90) but for someone who wants to go often it is a great place to take small kids to spend the day.
The yearly membership is definitely the way to go if you want to visit often...
