This gallery is named in the British tradition, which is to say it's actually a very large museum filled with Old Masters, contemporary works, and Canadian art including extensive Indigenous holdings. Especially noted for Group of Seven and related artists, plus a large suite of specially-housed Henry Moore plasters. A recent update by Frank Gehry added architectural beauty to complement the classic interiors of the original buildings. In addition to the vast array of treasures on display from the permanent collection, there are frequently changing exhibitions and, usually, a separately-ticketed blockbuster show. Hobbyists take note- there's a charming display of model ships on the lower level.
