A list of a few of our issues should help others understand why they should not move here.
- Multiple animals had to be cut out of our walls on Palace Ct.
- Reported issues 8 times before dryer fixed.
- Washer caught on fire.
- Often no parking for residents near their apartments, because visitors without parking passes take the reserved spots. This has been an ongoing issue for the years.
- Neighbor allowed dogs to defecate and urinate on our shared cement patio. Residents do not have an outside water source. So the waste stayed until it rained. Then it would wash onto our side of the patio. The patio has a partial wall between neighbors. The smell was so overhwelming that we could not even use our back patio area for months. We had to complain multiple times and send pics to get this corrected.
- Our hardwood floors started warping badly a couple of months ago. We reported it, and they have never been fully fixed. At first the main concern was that the floors were causing people to stumble and trip. I have neurological issues and my balance is compromised without the floor being wavy. We did home mold tests that showed a lot of mold growth. The office said there is mold int he air and the tests were not considered admissible. The amount of mold shown is not normal by any standard. We finally took pictures under our house last night, and it showed how much moisture is still under the house, missing insulation, and wood rot (probably from the moisture). They told us about a week ago that we could give a 30 day notice and be out of our lease without a penalty. After the mold tests, and having to fight to get information from the office, we asked to move sooner. This has caused a financial hardship - covering deposits and movers. We have asked to have December's rent removed to cover the expenses caused by us having to move due to the unhealthy environment. To this date, Kings Crossing has not done a mold test. Yesterday, we were told under the house was dry and we looked ourselves. It is wet. We have pictures. They gave us dehumidifiers to run (running up our electric bill) to dry the inside floor. The carpenter said he would return daily.and never came back. So we did not contiutnue to run them past a few hours the first day. We were told that is how under the house was dried. ? It has been months since we first reported the floor issue, and today Kings Crossing said we were welcome to move out before December if we do not want to pay further rent. It is November 30th!!! I was beyond insulted.
