Traded in a car that had personalized plates. Wanted to make sure we were able to put the personalized plates on the new vehicle. This was a year ago. Nobody knew what was going on with Minnesota transfer new rules during the signing of docs. We were told ten different things. Could never get a straight answer only excuses as to why they couldn't do it as part of the trade anymore. We were told it will take 6 months. We waited and called Mauer. No one there was helpful and said you will need to do this, this and this. Whenever I contacted them they would just rattle off a bunch of terminology and quote system titles for the DMV without coming out to say that I needed to go to the DMV. They were not knowledgeable or helpful at the time of trade or since. They list excuses rather than being helpful. Who wants to hear why you can't help? We want to know what you suggest we should do to resolve this. They handled this poorly and should have a written guideline for customers about this since they used to do it as part of a trade.
