The main photo is not correct. This is NOT an old Victorian building. It is a nice modern hotel from the outside. I have never stayed here so my stars are not relevant. I have lived here all my life and know this area well. The main photo of a Victorian building on a quaint street is NOT correct. That is not this area. This is the corner of Hegenburger and Doolittle, directly across the street from the entrance to the Oakland airport. It is a busy corner. But the hotel is well landscaped to offer a more pleasant view. However, be prepared to take a ticket to pay for parking at the hotel as soon as you enter the drive way. Most hotels on this street charge to park in their parking lots. And there is no other street parking available. I find it better to stay in Alameda, only 10 min north. A small, quaint island city that offers something for everyone. A beach that over looks SF bay. A ferry to SF, Angel Island, and Alcatraz each day. Take a drive and view our famous Victorian homes. Good restaurants. And many great coffee shops. Two shopping malls. A new hotel on Webster. And lots of great airbnb homes. Alameda is perfect for visiting the bay area for work or play! Lived here over 50 years. You'll enjoy walking down our main downtown street, Park Street with many little shops to explore. Visit Crown Memorial Beach and take a wind sufing day class. Or kyack peacefully. .
