Mountain Tops & Movies was the cabin we rented this year. We have a large family and needed this type of cabin. We generally stay away from "resorts" as the cabins are too close to each other for our liking, but our choices this year were limited, so we went with it. The view from this cabin was OUTSTANDING albeit WAY too close to many other cabins. We had 3 bear cubs come to our front porch on day one to welcome us - so we knew momma & papa wouldn't be far behind. We saw several bear - even had a "close encounter" with one - scary. All in all the cabin was great for our needs. The refrigerator is MUCH too small for a cabin that sleeps 12. The ONE oven rack is too small - had a near catastrophe while baking chickens!! Someone eventually showed up (too late for that meal) with the SAME size rack - said they'd have to order new ones - I hope they did for the next tenants. The kitchen was huge & awesome! The bedrooms were really nice - although the bedding is in terrible shape. You can replace those very inexpensively and it would do wonders for the overall look. The game room upstairs is wonderful - everything worked except the electronic dartboard. That was disappointing - but with so much else to do.....The theater room was nice and everything was in working order. But - please - please - it's time to replace that sectional. We've rented many cabins with theater rooms - and this one was the best ROOM - with the worst furniture. Of course the tiny washer & dryer (cabin sleeps 12) was an on-going joke - but again - it works! :-) We bring our own cooking items because most cabins do not have what we need - so I'll just say - none of the few plates match, cookware is low budget, not enough silverware for more than one meal - so bring paper plates, etc. We love the Wears Valley area - and will be back again for sure. If this cabin ever gets updated, we'd be happy to stay there again.
