Beavertail is a beautiful place on the southern end of Conanicut Island which is also the town of Jamestown. The lighthouse sight is the third oldest operating in the U.S. which can be toured as a museum.
There is a very small yet wonderful aquarium which is housed in a side building of the lighthouse. It is run by informative, super friendly naturalists. The shores are shale cliffs which are popular with fisherman as well as tourists. There are trails along the cliffs affording great views of Narragansett Bay. There is plenty of parking. It will s a beautiful place that I go back to every year.
