Beautiful shop, top location. Service varies by department. Many staff are talking to each other on the ground floor instead of focusing on the customer. This is better eg with Chanel, people are more personal there. Perhaps because the previous is "shop in shop". For men's clothing, the service differs per section, sometimes staff can do things in height. A number of employees do not realize that the customer is king, the previous of course lies with the floor managers who have no insight into their staff, sloppy to say the least and detracts from the shopping experience. Departments where the atmosphere is clearly better and the service is good are: the office / book department, the crockery and cooking equipment department and the bedding department. I recommend De Bijenkorf to hire better managers who explain to their staff what can be expected of them. In recent years, the Bijenkorf seems to focus more on tourists, which means that I go more to specialty shops. Too bad, to see such a beautiful company slip. Perhaps the Bijenkorf could get inspiration in London at Harrods, there is the service you would expect from a "high end store".
