Today, Tuesday 22nd July 2019, I went looking for a new pair of causal shoes. I typically wear Solomon shoes as they suit my wide, high arched feet and provide plenty of support. I landed at Kathmandu Melbourne. The second floor is where the footwear is (along with many other things). When I entered the store, I was greeted by staff, when I went up stairs I was also greeted by staff, even called sir..... I went to the footwear section and selected a couple of different styles that I had my eye on for the past few weeks. I gained the attention of a young male staff member and he was right onto everything. He answered ALL my questions and explained the technology, brands and what the brands were doing in the market space. In the end I went with a new pair of Keen 1/4 shoes (black). Last year I led an Expedition (No Roads Expeditions) along the Kokoda Track wearing Keens and the were great for my feet. Hence, I thought I'd give their urban shoes a go. I was happy with the shoe, very impressed with the service AND Katmandu offer Afterpay, which can be a trap for the indisciplined person, but works a treat for me.
