Spent our family Christmas in beautiful St. August...

Spent our family Christmas in beautiful St. Augustine this year. In lieu of all the presents on Christmas morning, we've been traveling the last few years. This year it was St. Augustine. Stayed on Vilano Beach at the Lagoon Cottage. It's a great home with everything and more you could want or need. You can walk to a Publix grocery store from the cottage. There are several restaurants. Puccini's next to the Publix is a great little italian restaurant. Lagoon Cottage is few minutes from the actual Inn downtown, so it's really the best of both worlds! Pet friendly and we enjoyed meeting the house cat at the Inn. Mary and her staff provide an excellent breakfast. They will even delivery a few items to the cottages, although we didn't try this option. Mary will make sure any diet is provided for, as one in our party is vegan. And if you eat later in the morning, Mary will have time to come out and visit. (Found out she is from our neck of the woods.) We didn't make it back for any of the happy hours. While dropping off our breakfast order one evening, it did seem they had a wonderful spread for the evening eats and drinks. Couldn't have picked a better place for our first visit to the Old City. The parking they provide is a huge help and within walking distance to everything. I would usually drop my party off and then park and meet up. I got a Inn staff tip for a secret parking spot in the heart of it all, you can use after 5pm at no charge. Only was able to grab a spot one time, as the word is out on that. Overall, thrilled with our stay and choice of Inn's/Cottages, the breakfast, the city and all to see, do and EAT! Only thing missing was that warm Florida sunshine. I would also recommend trying anyone of the eateries across the Bridge of Lions. Gas and Gypsy Cab Co. were delicious.
