I came in for dizzy spells and while the triage nurse took my blood pressure she b*tched to a co-worker about people coming in who aren't emergency cases. The doctor who examines me says I need to see a neurologist and plunks me in the waiting room for an hour. The word "stroke" was never uttered. I figure if something is really wrong, nurses wouldn't be b*tching about non-emergency cases and doctors wouldn't be leaving me to twiddle my thumbs for an hour, so I left. When I got home I spoke with a nurse from my insurance company who completely panicked and told me to go right back, that I may have been having a stroke. When I called the hospital to discuss this, every extension I dialed either rang off the hook with nobody answering or was answered by a gruff person who told me to call back later.
I'm going to see my regular doctor on Monday. If I stroke out between now and then, it's still better than going back to this quack factory.
