Barnes and Noble in Union Square is the second largest bookstore on the planet. (The first is Powell's in Portland.) The place is huge and encompasses four floors. On the 3rd floor there is a large and very popular Starbucks Coffee shop and al large magazine and travel book section.. The whole 2nd floor is dedicated to children's books and toys. The middle of this floor is usually crowded with toddlers,older children and their parents. Whenever I'm buying gifts for children this is the first place I look. The 4th floor has a large history section, social science and physical science sections and a textbook section. In addition the 4th floor has a large seated section where guest authors talk about their books. The 1st floor has new book sections and music sections. I love this place. (So does practically everyone else in New York.)
