If you are traveling to Borneo visiting the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre is a must do! It is in Sandakan which is just a 40 minute flight OR 5 to 6 hour drive from Kota Kinabalu.

The staff here are very informative and proud of the work they do. It s a great experience to see orangutans in the semi wild and learn about all of the rescue efforts that go into saving orphans. The best time to see the orangutans is during feeding time which is at 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM; however, they roam freely so you do have the chance of seeing them outside of these times.

Right next door is the Sun Bear Conservation Centre which is also a must see.
