When I get a quote either online or over the phone the price for uninsured motorist us included. Direct Auto sells unisured motorist insurance it is a add on and that portion is not quoted with the entire policy. Also, you must pay for that portion upfront with your first months premium plus a fee for the application plus a fee for your agent that adds up to $75.00. why have an agent well I asked that question and the answer was "if you need to discuss your policy your agent would be the person to call, you paid for their service. If you choose to go online and find the policy and pricing you like it does not include an agent. You may still discuss your concerns but, just not with the same person every time. There is a sizeable difference between the monthly payment between, 6 months and yearly pricing based on having it not having an agent.

Note: recently I had to talk to my agent regarding a claim, I thought you are supposed to go through your agent if you have a claim. When I called her office and explained what I needed (such as to report an accident) she immediately said I will have to connect you with the claims department. My point is, why am paying for an agent if I call to report an accident and go through what happened then have to wait to get connected somewhere else and to tell this person what happened, go through explaining in detail the event that I am reporting and where to go from here.

This was not the end of my experience, I was connected to towing insthead of claims.
Having to call back go through the menus to locate the claims department.
What I am paying and extra exspence for an agent and I'm left with filing the claim, going to a drive through estimator then wait to hear the cost of any repair..
Why pay extra for something you can do by calling the 800# on your members insurance card?
