Where do I start? My son and I are visiting the area for a soccer tournament. We checked in at 7pm Friday night. My son saw some of his friends in the dining area where they just finished up a meal provided by the hotel from 5:30-7pm for free. He was able to get a drink, hot dog, and soda while I was at the desk. I got the keys and he came up to me and said "Dad, I rate this hotel a 5 star!" LOL. Anyway, we got to our room and got settled and unpacked. When I started to put some items in the fridge, I noticed it was not cooling. When I called the desk, Matt and Zac came up to try to adjust it to make it work, and said "If it isn't cooling in 30 minutes, we will come by with a new one." Well, it did not, and sure enough they showed up with another refrigerator.
I have never experienced this level of service at a modest hotel such as this. Whoever is training/hiring the customer service personnel obviously is highly competent and qualified.
As far as the hotel is concerned, everything is VERY clean and neat. My son had a really fun time in the indoor/outdoor pool with his friends. The beds and linens look to be brand new and very comfortable.
I was apprehensive about staying at a hotel that was not affiliated in a chain, but Drury Inn sets the standard of what a hotel should be. Do yourself a favor and stay a night the next time you are passing through B'ham! You will not be disappointed.....
