On 1/22/2020 my wife and I came in with our 15 year old son to get him his first car. We had been to 5 other dealerships and this was our last stop for the day. We ended up buying a 2006 Dodge Charger. Personnel was friendly and paperwork was done in a timely fashion. We reviewed the Carfax (or the equivalent they use) and wanted to take home a copy so our mechanic could review it so he could give us an idea as to what was needed to make the car as safe as possible. However the printout was not in the paperwork when we got home. The next morning (1/23/2020) we called to get a copy. We were told that it would take about 30 minutes since they did not have a fax machine in that sales building. That kind of surprised us but ok. Several hours later, and with the car at our mechanics shop, we were still waiting. We called again and were told again that they would get on it. Didn't happen again. The next day (1/24/2020) with car still with our mechanic, we called and were told that they were all removing snow from the lot but was assured someone would get to it as soon as they could. Twice more we called that day. No carfax. On 1/25/2020 I called and left a message that my check would be placed on hold until we received it. Never arrived. After repeated calls on several days we gave up. On 1/29/2020 I paid for a copy of a carfax from my mechanic, took the hold off the check and called and told the manager how disappointing this was. He said that he could simply email it to me. WHY didn't they do that in the first place? No fax machine? Everyone removing snow? No one could take it across the street to get it sent? If they cannot handle something so simple then I have great reservations that they can handle things of more import.
