Located in the heart of Lahaina, home of some of the best local eats in Maui, the resort is situated along Kaanapali Beach, which is one of the best (and warmest) on the island, along with multiple other resorts.

The pros:
- Friendly enough staff
- Free valet the first night, and all nights for Platinum members
- A few feet away from the beach
- Great sunset views
- Clean rooms
- Multiple depths in the pool - good for beginner and advanced swimmers
- Kid friendly - a few activities are offered daily

The cons:
- Pay for your own lounge chair ($55/day for a double with hooded shade, and $15 for a single, w/o shade) to relax on the beach- you're charged a resort fee, yet still have to pay for a lounge chair?
- Nearly impossible to find a chair by the poolside (you have to get in real early and plop your stuff down)
- Not many activities offered by the resort
- No 'green-choice' option
- Facilities are huge, and guest services isn't great at giving directions from one building to another. Carry your own map around.

Overall, this is a decent resort for people with families, but watch out because the expenses will add up since very little is included in the resort fee. Don't recommend it for a leisure couple trip.
