Review of W Hotel Taipei

This is the perfect hotel for travelers/tourists. The location is fabulous with a subway and bus station immediately next door, many of Taipei s attractions a short stroll away (the Sun Yat San Memorial Hall, Taipei 101, even Elephant Mountain, just past Taipei 101, then east a bit), and a pedestrian walkway that spans the entire distance between the hotel and Taipei 101, full of dining options, tea shops, a movie theater, etc. The area seems at once lively and safe, even late at night. The hotel amenities are also top notch, with an outdoor swimming pool (open late), roof garden (great views in the evening/at night) and restaurants. The staff is truly outstanding. In particular, Matthew and Gary, at the concierge desk, could not have been more helpful. They spent a lot of time helping us determine how and when to travel via public transportation to the Art Museum and, later, to Hualien particularly helpful because tickets on the train we d anticipated taking were completely sold out. Matthew and Gary were knowledgeable, warm, and helpful. While we don t often review hotels, our experiences at this hotel enhanced our experiences in Taiwan. When we returned to Taipei, after visiting other cities, we stayed at a different hotel, in pursuit of a varied travel experience, and regretted not returning to the W. We strongly recommend this hotel.
