First thing before you start make sure to look at the weather, the first time we went there it was raining and the top of the statue was covered with clouds..but if the visibility is right it's a beautiful sight. I went up to the pedestal, a very nice view from up there. Am sure the view is even better from the crown. We got our tickets online, but I guess buying the tickets even at the spot is good idea. The staff are everywhere and quite helpful with directions. The island has Starbucks so that's a big plus. It's a magnificent statue and no picture can do justice to the beauty of the statue as seen live. A must visit place
