Horrible experience where they dropped us out because the guide could not manage a large group and they had damaged segways. I have already called and raised escalation with Viator customer care.
Detailed background:
1. As per the Viator Overview of this tour: Limited to six people, this tour provides a small-group experience. However, when we group of 6 arrived, we were clubbed with another group of 4 taking the size to 10 people. We went ahead with the flow.
2. Once the tour started, it was clear that the guide was also not happy with the increased group size.
3. Within less than 30 minutes the tour started, 2 segways from the other group of 4 got damaged and stopped working. The guide got very pissed and spoke in a condescending tone with my dad and also with me. She basically wanted to get 2-3 of us off the tour so she could continue - and started making a pretext that the guide has the right to throw off people from the tour. And most surprisingly, the damaged segways were from the other group of 4 Americans and one of them had also tripped down. But the guide clearly wanted us Indians to back off.
4. Further to the above, we group of 6 were not ready to leave family behind, and told her that either all or none will proceed. They then decided to drop all of us and proceeded with the other group of 4.
5. We have travelled from India and today was our first day at SF, and these guys left no stone unturned to make it the most horrible experience for us. Both the guide and the admin staff were rude and not ready to provide any reasoning for anything - saying clearly that they are not discussing this. Their business seems like a joke, where they only know how to disrespect foreigners and elders. Given their rascist tone and tenor, we have also raised this with our lawyer and intend to sue them, this is just not done!
6. And, most certainly, these guys do not deserve to be on Viator. They do not even fulfill the promise of 6-people group which is in the right first para of the Overview - but they ensure that they misbehave with Viator clients and they even mentioned that we are Viator clients, not theirs!.
