INCOMPETENT (they probably need to look up what the word means) and UNPROFESSIONAL
This is regarding the customer service, not the actual apartment, at Twin Pines.
Here we go:
I sent an email in March stating I wouldn't be renewing my lease. The property manager doesn't respond for 6 WEEKS (Rubi Rivera) and states that she was on maternity leave and therefore was unable to respond to my message. Why didn't you have an automated response stating you were out of the office and that I needed to contact someone else??? Or why weren't your emails forwarded to a different individual to take responsibility for?
She then tells me that because I didn't say "I'm moving out" or "I'm terminating my lease" verbatim (again, they'll need to look up what that word means) they then took it as I'm going month-to-month. If I wanted to go month-to-month I would have stated so. She then tells me my email from March, 23rd isn't considered sufficient enough for a 60 day notice and that I'd need to pay June rent even though I was planning to move out May, 22nd. Had someone simply responded, I could have clarified and this never would have happened.
I also told her that not one person from their company contacted me regarding my lease. No phone calls, emails, notices on my door, or letters in the mail. I've never lived in a complex before as I've always rented privately owned properties and thought part of their job is to reach out to tenants regarding their leases. Nope, nothing from these guys.
I even went into the leasing office at Colonial Apartments (I'll keep my mouth shut) and stated I wasn't renewing my lease, no one attempted to make sure everything had been done appropriately.
My Dad even called Miss Rivera's supervisor (Nicole) at the corporate office to see if they'd work something out as I was a good tenant and paid my rent on time every month. She hung up on him. GROW SOME BALLS AND DO THE RIGHT THING.
They failed to communicate properly in every way and screwed me over. I moved to a new apartment in Upper Kirby and still had to pay $1164 for June rent at Twin Pines. I don't understand why it's so difficult for them to admit that they didn't do their job proficiently (add that to the list of words to look up) and make right of it.
Worst customer service ever. I really enjoyed the apartment itself, but unfortunately this experience trumps that.
