Splendido put a sour ending on a beautiful week in Beaver Creek. First off, let me say the chef is outstanding, as the food, when we got it, was excellent. Our waitress did her best, but it took half an hour for our appetizers to arrive, and another 1hr and 15 minutes for the entrees to show up. We arrived at 8pm, and our entrees were served at 9.45pm. Meantime, people who arrived after us had finished their meals and were being offered desserts. When we brought this unacceptable service to a manager s attention, the supposed manager, whose name is Billy, was completely unperturbed. He did not utter a word of apology when he came to the table, and did not comp anything for the atrocious wait inflicted upon us - not even coffee! LOL!!!! I have eaten at multiple three Michelin star restaurants all over the world, and at holes in the wall, and everything in between, and never have I encountered a manager who really did not give a damn about the customers experience. I was once at a similar caliber restaurant in Lake Tahoe, and the manager comped an entire meal, for a mild inconvenience. So, I d say, if you like to go to places where the management does not give a hoot about your satisfaction, go to Splendido. Let s say a Michelin star is not in its future!
