The short story is this refinance took a total of six months and four days to complete. I am not making this up. There was a couple of glitches with our former mortgage company that should ve added maybe a week or two onto this process, and we certainly understand Covid, but we heard every excuse in the book from I had to drive my sister to the vet with her dog, I had to take my three kids to the doctor, systems problems, waiting on the underwriter, more systems problems, literally four months in a row we were told to not make the mortgage payment because we re going to close, and a few weeks later, oh well yeah you better go ahead and make that payment As we can t get this close this month either.
We were promised a gift card to reimburse us for the late fees we had to pay the old mortgage company one month Because we were told to not make the payment, but then yes had to make the payment after the late fee had been applied, which we never received. I had to initiate most of follow up every step of the way and I can t even find the words to explain how insanely frustrating this process was. We started researching the company further because it really felt like it was a scam!!! My husband and I both contacted the corporate office via phone and email about 4 months into the process, and never received a response back.
