"...sorry sir, head office never received the money you paid them for the extended warranty..."

Our whirlpool washing machine stopped working just this last monday (jan 2, 2017).

When I called asking for both a service call and for whirlpool to honour the extended warranty we paid for (due this june 2017) I was shocked to hear what I just typed as the opening to this review.

Plus, this response came from the insurance company that originally underwrote the warranty. When I originally called the whirlpool service number I was told by a pleasant C.S.R. that I'd need to phone the, "company taking care of that warranty."

When I phoned that company the only thing I received was an endlessly ringing phone and then finally a busy signal??????????????????????????????

Long story short (if possible at this point) turns out the Ajax Maytag store where we purchased ALL OF OUR APPLIANCES closed and, somehow, the money we paid for the extended warranty never made it to the head office????? I guess I'd never would have found out if our washing machine hadn't stopped working. So, as it sits right now I'm waiting to hear back from a corporate bureaucrat....hmmmm...I wonder how that'll turn out...

To be fair, if whirlpool honours the warranty and fixes my washing machine, I'll update this review and give it more than 1 star depending on what happens.........
