Extremely crowded, with many people stopping to take pictures. I didn't go into the statue, not up to the crown as I had planned, and mainly stayed on the island itself. There's a gift shop as well, where you can buy all sorts of different souvenirs. I used the coin making machine where you pay $3 to get a printed coin of the statue of liberty made out of copper and the same thickness as the statue. Not exactly worth my $3 as I am not sure if it counts as actual money, but a very nice gift.
