Lake Waramaug is one of the prettiest spots in CT. The Hopkins Inn sits on a rise and has a tree shaded patio overlooking the lake. When we are in CT it is our favorite place to have lunch on a nice day. Even on gray or cool days there are tables in the dining room that overlook the lake and the hills. The Inn's menu is Austrian cuisine with waitresses wearing the traditional Austrian dirndl. The bar's ambience is that of an Austrian "Wein Stuberl." My wife and I particularly enjoyed the "goulasch mit spaetzel.
