My husband and I did the BB10B Sabah Wildlife Safa...

My husband and I did the BB10B Sabah Wildlife Safari (8D7N) with Borneo Eco Tours and throughly enjoyed our experience. What really stood out is how seamlessly the entire tour was organised. We were met at every point (airport, lodge, multiple nature parks and wildlife centers) by friendly, warm and knowledgable drivers and guides. And every single one of them was on time, every time.

We managed to tick most of the wildlife we'd hoped to experience off our list, all except the pygmy elephant and rhinoceros hornbill (although we did see many other species of hornbills). A staff member at the lodge did say that the elephants haven't been spotted for the greater part of the year, so it may be more accurate to take this off the list of possible sightings? Having said that, our guides (especially Shah at Sukau Rainforest Lodge) had AMAZING skills and managed to spot so many animals, birds and crocs, which was amazing and so much fun!

It was also very clever of the company to plan our tour with lodges that kept getting better; we were delighted with each improvement and appreciated the increased luxury with each move. :)

2 points for improvement:
1. Our stay at Sepilok Nature Reserve was not great and we didn't enjoy either good service or food. Staff at this lodge were careless and not very service-oriented. We were also served food that was pretty sub-par, including milk that had expired by 3 weeks. It may be time to consider another partner lodge at Sepilok?
2. Food at Borneo Rainforest Lodge was by far the best across the 3 lodges we stayed at. I'm not sure if there's opportunity for Borneo Eco Tours to influence the kitchens at Sukau Rainforest Lodge but an improvement in food there would be fab! While we got decent food, the monotony got very boring after day 2.

All in all, we would gladly travel with Borneo Eco Tours again and highly recommend them!
