There are so many options in the Palm and next time, I will pick another one. I had been coordinating with the hotel beforehand (we were on a half board plan). At no time, were we informed that the Al a carte restaurants would be fully booked - this was hugely disappointing. Upon check-in, we were also not informed. The first night we had to eat at Imperium which had no vegetarian options (although some food was made for us, this restaurant had a cafe feel and not a luxury restaurant). We managed to book Amala for the second night which was great. We were upgraded to the seaview and the view was good. The room itself was good and large. The hotel had a huge number of staff but most were not smiling or friendly. They did not look happy. The hotel had a mass market feel (not personalised at all) and the only pool was relatively small. The free water and ice lollies was great but overall quite disappointing at this price point. Did not feel like a valued guest at all throughout our stay. Whilst billed as a family hotel, the main pool was quite deep (the children's area was fine but not as good as the pictures make out). The beach was disappointing, sharp and rocky. The spa was good. Breakfast was only ok, could have been a lot better. When you pay this sort of price, you expect real luxury and this was not it. I would not recommend, given the number of other options available.
