This is a great place to spend the day. The price is reasonable and the location is great for both locals and tourists staying in Virginia Beach and the Southside.

There are dozens of slides and tube rides and most of the lines are reasonable, even on a Sunday in July. The wave pool and river can get a little crowded, but not uncomfortable so.

You may have to ask around to find the free sunscreen, and there's only two water fountains that I know of. If you're going more than one day, get the season pass. Changing areas are available, but limited. I'd recommend wearing you swimwear to the park.
