The Statue of Liberty National Monument is a great day attraction when visiting NY. First you get to go on a ferry ride, then you have the whole island to explore. Depending on the season you go ( Better in the summer) you can enjoy the green areas and have a nice picnic. The monument itself is pretty cool even though I thought it was going to be much larger since it looks so large on tv and movies, however it is quite large and it gets its high from the large base it sits on. Inside the statue is pretty cool and if you get the opportunity to go up to the crown that's ever cooler, but few people get this opportunity. Over all there is a lot to see in and under , and around the statute.
