Took my mother to visit the Statue of Liberty as a birthday gift during the summer. Best time to visit is around August. One advice is to buy your tickets in advance, best online. This avoids the long lines to purchase one on the day of the visit. Employees are extremely diligent but a lot of people visit and it will take you hours to get to the booths. Then you have to go through clearance, same as the airport and the lines are again really long. But we had online tickets, took 10mins to the booth, 30 on the clearance lines and another 20 to get on the boat, 15 more to get from the boat to the stations and inside the monument. Went all the way to the crown about 290ish steps up. It was an amazing experience. Tiring but worth it. The tickets included access to the Museum and Ellis Island ( worth every second - every room visited). Full day of adventures. If you haven't visited yet, make plans for that. You will absolutely enjoy it.
