Unfortunately, I cannot comment on the service per se. I can only share events with you so that you can form your own impression.
We were taken to a bar by people we met on site.
Since we had half board, we assumed that of course we would have to pay for our drinks.
At first we were told that we don't have to, as we were invited by our "friends" (all-in guests). When we left the bar the discussion started. I was in the bathroom when I heard a man scream. I came back to the bar when I saw one of the staff yell at my wife and wave his hand in front of her. I heard her say that she would like to speak to a manager. Then I see how the named person from the staff grabs her by the arm and literally wants to drag her to the front desk. I hardly need to describe how I responded to it. The entire bar and the restaurant were naturally aware of the gentleman's loud screaming. We felt more than exposed. Unfortunately it was not possible to speak to a manager that evening. The tour guide came to us briefly (full drunk) but was not very helpful.
The next day we had to contact the management again. Then, 6 hours later, there was a conversation in which we were assured that one had known the mentioned gentleman of the staff for years and that this could not be. We were asked if we were really sure that this had happened. I will not go on to say that this is an indescribable way of doing things. He put us (manager) off and wanted to watch the video material. In the evening we had to approach him again, where he apparently thought that we were fooling us into seeing nothing on the tape and there would be no sound. I then became sharper in my tone, whereupon he said what exactly I want from him now. We consulted with the couple that was involved and that we got to know on site. We came to the conclusion that we felt so humiliated that we wanted to move to another hotel, gladly against additional payment. He wanted to clarify this. In the meantime, the entire hotel was apparently informed of the incident, as we were constantly ignored and looked at crookedly. Of course, we had to visit him again the next day. He offered us to upgrade. That was when we first realized that a distinction is made between categories. He explained to us that this would mean that we could then use other restaurants and that the staff there was friendlier, as the more upscale guests would eat there. YES You read that right, that was exactly the formulation. A distinction is made between all-in, all-in plus and all-in gold. But please don't pin me down on the label.
The highlight is yet to come.
The next day he came to us for once and informed us that he had an alternative, quiet and, above all, brand new hotel for us, which at first sounded good. Then he informed us that we would have to pay for the transfer. This is not customer-friendly considering what happened, but it was okay for us. Of course, I wanted to know what the price would be. He answered what the transfer would be worth to us and up to what price we would agree. INITIAL? In the end it was 100 per person (4 people). The tour guide was not in sight at any time. Apparently we were in good hands. When we then had to carry our suitcases out of the bungalow over the sand to the beach ourselves, we were happy to get away from there. The new hotel was a disaster. Leftovers and rubbish were floating around in the sea. An absolute disaster. Never again !
